Jewish-Arab Dialogue – Children and Teens

Children Teaching Children (CTC)

In-depth yearlong activity in grades 8 and 9 at Jewish and Arab schools. Acceptance of the other, equality of worth, familiarity and friendship, ideals of democracy and equality.

8 classes, 250 participants, well established (JACP)

Face to Face

 

Encounters between high school students (11-12 grades) in a two-day seminar at Givat Haviva. Bi-national facilitation. In-depth activity for educational staff at the schools.

4,000 participants, educator activity, recognized by Ministry of Education (JACP)

Through Others’ Eyes

Encounters between Jewish and Arab teens from the region, through the camera, annual activity, visit and photography in the homes of the participants and final exhibit.

Through Others’ Eyes – Documentary Film

Photography workshop and production of documentary films by Jewish and Arab teens from the region. Films related to identity and local stories.

Crossing Borders

Encounters between Jewish and Arab teens from Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority focused on publishing a joint magazine on coexistence, society and current events.

Through Others’ Eyes  - Women

Encounters between Jewish and Arab women from the region, through the camera, annual activity, photography in the homes of the participants and final exhibit.

Creating Women’s Business Communities

Personal empowerment and business workshop for Jewish and Arab women who own small businesses. The goal is to develop a community of business women. Personal and business support.

Women in Community

Empowerment and professional training for women (social workers, community workers and volunteers) to be active on behalf of women and young girls in their communities. Conducted in parallel for Jewish and Arab women.

2-year in-depth training of Jewish and Arab professional women who work with women’s groups.  Emphasis on bi-national and multicultural work

Communications, Spokespersonship and Public Relations in the Arab Sector

Course for training educators and public officials

Institute for Training Community Leaders and Municipal Workers in the Arab Community

4 annual courses for employees of local authorities, education staff and women in the Arab sector: Financial management, administration, organizational culture, education and pedagogy, leadership.

Women’s Empowerment Workshops

Some in cooperation with WIZO, initiatives of graduates of Women in Community. Women immigrants, women in distress, single mothers, volunteer women, middle-aged women.

In-depth program to create young leadership at Arab schools.

Teacher Training,

Sakhnin

7 in-service training sessions for teachers on democracy, equality, pluralism and active citizenship. Total of 112 hours.

230 participants, recognized for in-service training credit by the Ministry of Education (JACP)

Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies

 4 annual courses for adults – 130-200 hours. Class for “Middle East specialists” – yearlong intensive study, 80 participants.

Teachers on Sabbatical

Yearlong course: Tolerance as a religious value, meeting of cultures, peace in the three religions, study tour. 224 hours, recognized for in-service training credit.

Ceramics Course for Adults

Yearlong, high-level course, 8 hours per week, Jewish and Arab participants from around the country, meeting point purely through art.
