Courses for Women at Noa/Nuha Centre

Women as Facilitators

Facilitating specifically women’s groups is a highly specialized skill and this one year program addresses issues and skills needed to competently and sensitively coordiante women's groups. It is catering for trained facilitators, therapists, social workers or other women working with groups on a regular basis. It is a one day a week course providing professional, training and enrichment for Jewish and Arab women incorporating social, political and cultural involvement and promoting Jewish Arab coexistence. The course raises awareness of women gender issues in different cultures and explores sensitivities of the Jewish/ Arab conflict. There is field work and unpaid internship as part of the course under the guidance of the Noa/Nuha Centre.

 

Professional Parenting in Therapy

This course is open to Arab and Jewish social workers, psychologists or therapists. It is a two year intensive training one afternoon each week delving into the realms of motherhood, family relationships, mother- daughter attachments.

 

Creating Women’s Business Communities

Supported by UJA Federation NY this popular dynamic course was initiated in 2005 for local business women to gain expert advise and training in all business related issues. It runs one morning each week for one yea and caters to Jewish and Arab women running their own business in the Wadi ARa/Menahse region.The course covers practical tools needed for running a successful business such as business planing, marketing and basic accounting  aswell as exploring the importance of understanding the personal and emotional side of running your own business as a woman. This programme has created a community of bi national business women able to offer mutual support on personal and professional levels to each other.

 

Women in the Community

This 2 year professional training and enrichment program is open to Jewish and Arab women working in the social professions with the goal of advancing the social, political and cultural involvement of women in the community.Those enrolled on this program will learn leadership, negotiation, cooperation and conflict management and assume tools for their leadership role in their community aswell as refining their facilitator roles in groups. All students are expected to intiate and implement a project for women in thier own community.
