Noa/Nuha Centre
Since its establishment in 1949 Givat Haviva Institute’s goal is to create a better society in Israel based on justice, equality, liberalism, humanism and democratic values and to empower all her citizens

In 2002 the Women and Gender Studies Unit morphed into The Noa/Nuha Centre for Women and Gender Studies. This centre offers educational courses, programs and cultural events to encourage Israeli women of all cultures and backgrounds to meet, discuss, learn and celebrate each other.

Courses aim to empower and assist Israeli women in the community to realize their full potential. The projects are open to Arab and Jewish women living in Israel who want to use the expertise and support offered at this centre for the growth of their personal and professional lives.

History has proven that women can be a major force in the process of social change. However in most Middle Eastern countries women are still not fully integrated into the centres of power of their societies. Yet both Arab and Jewish women in Israel are directly influenced by the political reality and by the consequences of the conflict.

In addition to the professional expertise to be gained on our courses the participants will be given the tools and encouraged to use them in order to take an active role in their communities. As multipliers the participants are expected to empower wider circles of women and thus assist in creating a movement of change
