Course for planning and building projects managed by women at Givat Haviva
A course of women's leadership with 28 participants from local councils and women's organizations began recently at Givat Haviva's Sakhnin Branch. The course enables women to take part in community activities and promotes collective responsibility towards building civil society. The 120-hour course deals with women's leadership, leadership in organizations, developing women's leadership, women in politics and civil society organizations, feminist movements and management styles. It includes study tours and study days with professionals. In an interview with Ms. Sanaa Watad, the Director from Givat Haviva, she said that the course is designed to answer the needs and goals of the local councils and organizations. There are women's courses in three locations – Givat Haviva, Sakhnin and Kufr-Qasem. Watad adds that there are eight courses supported by MEPI – USA for local councils, active NGOs and community organizations that aim to serve the community and advance women’s status. The goals are personal empowerment, studying and awareness of women's issues and planning and building future projects.
