Study Weekend: Human Resources Development and Financial Growth Course In the framework of the Human Resources Development and Financial Growth course a study weekend was held in Zichron Yaakov on December 15-16, 2005, with the participation of some thirty people – course participants as well as the Mayor of Sakhnin, Mohammad Bashir, the Head of the Kfar Kara Local Council, Zohir Badir, Director of the Jewish-Arab Center for Peace at Givat Haviva, Ahmad Bdair, Mr. Issawi Farij and Dr. Ramzi Halabi. Dr. Gazal Abu Raya, Administrative Coordinator of the course, lectured at the program and noted that these two days contributed to the participants tools for implementation of processes of change in their organizations. The course evaluator, Simha Binyamin, examined with the participants the strong points of the course and how it could be improved. Mohammad Bashir, Mayor of Sakhnin, expressed appreciation for Givat Haviva's initiative towards empowerment of senior employees of Arab Local Authorities and stated: "I learned much in these two days and I am convinced that they will contribute to and improve the functioning of the Local Authorities." Ahmad Bdair, Director of the Jewish-Arab Center for Peace, noted Givat Haviva's activities and said that the cooperation between Jews and Arabs in Israel should be strengthened.
