The
Institute for Arabic Studies at Givat Haviva is holding an intensive
course for study of the Arabic language. The course trains its graduates
in all the aspects of the language – reading and writing literary Arabic,
listening to the media, speaking Arabic and acquaintance with Islam and
the Middle East.
The
course will take place
in the
month of July 3-28 (Sun.-Thur.) between 14:00 and 20:30 p.m
in the
month of July 31 - August 25 (Sun.-Thur.) between 9:00 and 15:30 p.m.
Course
curriculum:
Literary
Arabic, spoken Arabic, Arabic in the media, Middle East and Islam;
total 35 hours per week. During the course the students will participate
in visits to Arab villages in the vicinity.
No prior
knowledge of Arabic is necessary.
Language
of instruction: Hebrew.
Course
price: NIS 4,900
Cost
of the course does not include dormitories.

20weekly hours of literary
Arabic, 12 hours of spoken Arabic, 6 hours of Arabic in the media, 4 hours of
Middle Eastern studies and Islam. Total 42 weekly hours.
In addition, individual
tutoring and exercises during the afternoon hours.
Speaking workshops led
by Arab facilitators, study tours and meetings in local villages.
Structure of the Course:
5days per week, 8 hours
of study per day.
Admission to the course
is not dependent upon prior knowledge of Arabic.
In the framework of the
course students may sit for the Bagrut (Matriculation) examination at the level
5 study units.
Cost of the course is
NIS 26,800 including dormitories.( Only at Sun. - Thur.)
