“Through Others’ Eyes”

Feedback from Participants

We asked the participants regarding their feelings and thoughts during the visits to the homes.

While I was hosting them in my house, I really enjoyed it. The presentation of my home was very interesting. It was also interesting to see how others photograph in my house.”

During the hosting at others’ homes I was a little embarrassed. Otherwise, it was very interesting, especially in the homes of our friends from Kfar Kara and Baka, where they received us very warmly and everything was new and unfamiliar to me. I took a lot of photographs and I really liked the environment.”

I think there is great importance in the visits to the other side, they provide a more intimate atmosphere and make the group cohesive. The close acquaintance also enriches the knowledge of each other’s family and social life very much.”

The visit to the home of a friend from my sector was less uncomfortable but also less interesting than the visit to the home of an Arab friend – there was discomfort but also more interest.

While I was hosting in my house all the time I wanted to make sure that everyone was comfortable and that everything was okay. Suddenly I looked at my own home from a different aspect, like someone coming to visit, I tried to see and think what I would photograph here. This was a special experience that I never felt before.”

When being hosted by others, I’m pretty embarrassed at the beginning, I’m not comfortable because it’s not my house. But later on I get over the discomfort and then I photograph. All in all I really enjoyed the visits.”
